ARTISTÂ STATEMENT
Demanding control of the medium is crucial to the execution of my work. The ambiguity these compositions allow them to stand alone, free from concepts or ideas one might think they represent. The images appear from spontaneity and impulse, versus a planned intention. I find inspiration in the environment around me through shapes of objects overlapping, shadows, and converging lines in buildings, as well as the abstract movement of the human body. My work rejects the idea of intentional aesthetics and realistic form and demands to be completed as the medium dictates.
